  Welcome to All Music Inc's Musicdungeon! Right now, you are bidding on one of the coolest guitars ever to come into our shop. This is the 2005 Ibanez BMW1 Bob Weir Cowboy Fancy electric guitar. It weighs 10 lbs, the scale length is 25.5", and the nut width is 1.70". It's in excellent overall condition, as you can see from all the photos. There are some very light polish marks/scratches, but absolutely nothing that affects the performance of this incredible tone machine. The mid '70s were a time for bold experimentation in guitar design, particularly with electronics. Replacement pickups, coil-tapping, onboard boosters, and active EQ circuits, all sorts of buttons and switches. Ibanez worked with Bobby 'Ace' Weir, the rhythm guitarist for the arguably one of the greatest bands of all time, The Grateful Dead in 1976 to build the custom "Cowboy Fancy". This BWM1 is its 2005 reissue. Bobby's essential specs included a swamp-ash body with a mother-of-pearl "tree of life" motif all the way up to the 22nd fret, bound ebony fingerboard to a large inlaid headstock. The through neck is a five piece sandwich of maple/walnut with a D shape. All gold hardware, ornate abalone binding, and an "Ace" inlay on the 20th fret. All of this gorgeousness bathed in a beautiful Brown Sunburst finish. Aside from its stunning aesthetics, come the advanced electronics. Two DiMarzio PAF 36th Anniversary humbuckers voiced for the bridge and neck, are joined by DiMarzio's Area 61 single coil in the middle. Four selector switches provide on/off functions for each pickup, as well as a coil tap for the bridge/neck pickups resulting in endless tone combinations. The top tier control zone offers master passive Volume/Tone knobs, plus EQ level. This knob deploys when you flip the EQ on/off switch, firing up the battery powered preamp, and it governs three EQ knobs underneath for Treble, Mid, and Bass. The EQ level then controls the overall volume of the settings, also providing an extra volume boost for leads. This truly is a specialty guitar for guitarists that want something unique. A vintage reissue that got all the details right, from its big neck/body to the over the top design and incredible electronics package. Don't pass this by! Thanks for looking!
